Understand the Brain
The brain is both an electrical and vascular organ. Neurons communicate through fast electrical and chemical activity, while blood flow changes more slowly as active tissue consumes oxygen. No instrument sees the whole story: EEG and MEG follow rapid population activity, fMRI and fNIRS infer activity from blood and oxygen, and implanted sensors trade surgery for finer detail. These teaching tools connect anatomy, measurement and practical BCI design. Positions and coverage are deliberately simplified, scalp signals spread through tissue, and every result is an educational approximation — never a scan, diagnosis or clinical recommendation.
